SCHOOL 
UNIFORM

It is the policy of the school that all children will wear our agreed uniform each day.

 

THE WEARING OF SCHOOL UNIFORM CAN PLAY A KEY ROLE IN

​

  • promoting the ethos and values of our school

  • providing a sense of belonging, identity and inclusion

  • setting an appropriate tone for education

​

SCHOOL UNIFORM - YEAR 1 TO YEAR 6

  • Dark grey or black skirt or trousers (tailored shorts in summer, if required) 

  • White shirt with collar – worn with the school tie 

  • Purple and gold striped school tie 

  • Purple blue V-neck Jumper or cardigan – plain or with the embroidered school logo

  • White polo shirt (optional - summer wear only, instead of the shirt and school tie) 

  • Purple and white gingham dress (optional - summer wear only) 

  • Black coat with embroidered logo (optional) – outdoor wear only, not to be worn in class

 

SCHOOL UNIFORM - EYFS

  • White polo shirt 

  • School jumper, with school logo 

  • Black school trousers or skirt 

  • Plain black school shoes, or plain black plimsolls (no other type of footwear is permitted in school, with the exception of PE*) 

  • White or black socks/tights 

 

PE KIT

  • Plain white T-shirt 

  • Dark blue or black shorts 

  • Trainers or plain black plimsolls 

  • Plain/unbranded black or dark blue tracksuit or suitable clothing for winter 

 

Any clothing required for religious purposes should be in Phoenix Primary colours (purple, orange, white, black or grey).

 

All uniform items should be clearly named with the child’s name and class.

 

Good condition pre-loved items are available at low cost from the school via the school office and at school functions throughout the year at parent days.

 

Wonderfully Made is a charitable organization who provide free school uniforms to children across Medway when families have financial hardship. Wonderfully Made/ Medway Vineyard.

 

 

JEWELLERY

 

The wearing of jewellery is not permitted (with cultural exception) and for the reasons of safety.

​

If watches are worn to school, they will have to be removed for PE lessons. We cannot be held responsible for their safe keeping.

​

One small pair of stud earrings is allowed, but we do encourage parents to remove them on days when their child has swimming or PE. It is advised that any piercings are undertaken at the beginning of the summer break to avoid issues of removal. 

​

 

​HAIR

 

Student’s hair should be of their natural colour and shaved symbols or patterns are advised to be undertaken in the holidays to allow for full growth by the time they come into school. Hair should be tied up and bows are to be kept under 7cm’s in length. 

 

WHERE TO BUY

 

All school uniform items are available to purchase from high street stores or supermarket, with the exception of the school tie and items with the embroidered logo, these are available to purchase from School Time in Chatham (instore or online).
